About the Family Support Program at Asian American Community Services
The Family Support Program at Asian American Community Services was developed to help Asian clients in the central Ohio region navigate their way through times of crisis. Incidents involving domestic violence, hate crimes, human trafficking, and sexual assault are targeted because of the culture of silence they are embedded in. We help our clients by bridging barriers of language and culture through providing translators and interpreters, connecting them to the resources they need, and accompanying our clients to important appointments to provide valuable support. We are also aiming to start support groups, not only for clients we are directly servicing, but also for their families and supportive partners to ensure that the environment we live in is a safe and informed one.
